The outrage at being open on Thanksgiving? I am not sure that I get it.

I might argue that it isn’t a heinous crime.

The Thanksgiving weekend is a long one. If you are alone, it is VERY long. When I was starting out and wasn’t near family and hadn’t made a lot of friends, the last thing I wanted was to be alone for FOUR days. So I always volunteered to work. Being at work kept me busy AND more, importantly, I was able to INTERACT with people. Sure beat sitting home alone in an empty apartment. Happy Holidays?

Plus, most of my employers often fed us a warm, turkey dinner during our shift AND we got paid double time! Christmas CASH!

Other arguments which focus on Corporate Culture, Employee Abuse, Free Markets and Corporate Greed probably have validity and are worth debating.

But there are actually people who WANT to work the holidays. It’s a free country so I say let ’em. Why boycott what has value to many people.

Love, me
