It was a heart-wrenching ending of the life of a wonderful, amazing dog who had been my constant companion and friend for over 16 years.  My adoration and unconditional love for her was exceeded only by her even greater adoration and her unconditional love for me.

She taught me patience because it never irritated her if I was late.  She taught me forgiveness when she never withheld her affections or love even when I broke a promise.  She taught me love because she loved me in spite of my many, many, many faults.  She asked for nothing except for basic necessities and a tiny bit of attention. For that, I enjoyed her loyalty, faithfulness, and her constant, comforting presence. I loved that dog and always will.

Some people doubt that dogs go to heaven, but I don’t doubt it. If heaven is the home of the best, then Misty will be there.
